Privacy Policy
DressShare is a peer-to-peer outfit rental app for India. You can browse listings without an account. Creating an account, listing an outfit, requesting a rental, or reporting content means we process the personal data below.
Who is responsible
The operator of the DressShare app is the data fiduciary for this service. We currently operate as an individual publisher on Google Play. Use the support email on the DressShare listing on Google Play.
What we collect
- Account. Email address and/or Indian mobile number, and a password. Passwords are stored by our auth provider (Supabase), hashed; we never see the plaintext. If you choose Google, we receive the name and email Google shares with us for that sign-in.
- Profile. Display name, phone number, handover address, city, PIN code, and an optional profile photo. Name, phone and address are required before you can list an outfit or request a rental.
- Listings you upload. Title, category, size, city, rent, deposit, rental window, and 1–6 photos of the outfit.
- Bookings. Which outfit you requested, the date, and any note you add. Owners reviewing requests can see the renter’s name, photo, phone and city so they can arrange handover.
- Reports. If you flag an outfit we store the reason (nudity, stolen photo, counterfeit, not an outfit, offensive, spam, or other) against that listing.
- Technical. The API receives the IP address and User-Agent of each request, which Google Cloud may log for a short period as part of running the service. We do not use advertising SDKs or sell data.
Why we use it
- To create and secure your account, and to let you sign in again.
- To show the catalogue, your wardrobe, and booking requests.
- To let the other party in a rental identify you and contact you for handover.
- To moderate user-uploaded photos and listings, including auto-hiding an outfit after three open reports and taking it down when a report is confirmed.
- To delete your account when you ask.
We do not use your data to show third-party ads, and we do not sell it.
Who else sees it
- Anyone using the app can see listing photos, titles, prices, city, owner display name, and (if they open a profile) that person’s display name, photo and city — not their email, phone or address.
- The other party to a booking sees the renter’s name, photo, phone and city on the request.
- Supabase (project region South Asia / Mumbai) stores accounts, the database, and photos.
- Google Cloud (Cloud Run,
asia-south1Mumbai) runs the API that serves the app. - Google if you tap Sign in with Google — only the tokens and profile Google sends us for that sign-in.
We do not share your data with other third parties except where Indian law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep account and profile data until you delete the account. Listing photos live until you delete the listing (or the account), or until a confirmed report takes the listing down.
Deleting an account removes the sign-in, every photo in your storage folder, outfits nobody ever booked, and the personal fields on your profile (name, email, phone, address, PIN, photo). Bookings that already happened stay as the other party’s record of a real handover: those outfits are taken off the marketplace and stripped of your name and photos. The profile row is emptied rather than dropped, so it cannot be reused.
Your choices
- Edit your profile in the app at any time.
- Delete your account in the app (Profile → Delete account) or on the web deletion page. Both hit the same API.
- You can also ask us to access, correct, or erase your personal data via the support email on our Play listing. We will respond within 90 days.
Children
DressShare is for people 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, tell us and we will delete it.
Grievance officer

Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or why, we will update this page and the date above.
